Univation Technologies presents on “Sustainable Advantages of UNIPOL™ PE Technology for HDPE Products” at the ME-Tech 2019 Conference, 26-28 February 2019 in Abu Dhabi

Houston, Texas - March 08, 2019 - Univation Technologies presented a paper on UNIPOL™ PE Technology at the ME-Tech 2019 Conference held on 26-28 February 2019 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Mr. Swapnil Chandak, Product Technology Leader with Univation’s Product R&D Group, gave a paper titled “Sustainable Advantages of UNIPOL™ PE Technology for HDPE Products”. The presentation focused on how UNIPOL™ PE Technology provides innovative, high-performance products while also delivers sustainable solutions that positively impact consumers, brand owners and the environment.

Mr. Chandak’s presentation emphasized Univation’s broad HDPE capability in key applications including high-pressure bimodal PE100 pipe, flexible PE-RT pipe, HIC blow molding (BM), and injection molding (IM). Mr. Chandak also drew attention to UNIPOL™ PE Products’ key sustainability features including recycle/reuse, resource conservation, light-weighting, and durability/service life.

The Middle East region is projected to continue experiencing strong demand for polyethylene products. HDPE demand is projected to grow above GDP at 5.3% AAGR, adding 2.5 million tons per annum of new demand between 2018 and 2028, with more than 30% of HDPE growth going into bimodal HDPE applications. Additionally, HDPE pipe and conduit products are the fastest growing segment at > 6% AAGR. LLDPE demand is also growing above Middle East GDP at 5.8% AAGR and is projected to add 1.7 million tons per annum of new demand between 2018 and 2028. Over 90% of the Middle East LLDPE market is film with approximately 5% of the total LLDPE market going into metallocene LLDPE applications. The Middle East’s advantaged, low-cost supplier position makes the region well-suited to focus on global export opportunities while also satisfying regional demand requirements. ^A
